The long tradition of residential summer courses provided by the Education Authority’s Youth Service at Gortatole Outdoor Education Centre in Florencecourt, Co Fermanagh, continues again this year throughout July and August 2016.
The courses are aimed at young people aged between 10-20 years and provide programmes which not only entertain but offer opportunities for both personal and social development, as well as, experiencing a wide variety of healthy outdoor adventurous activities. Camping is a feature of all these courses.
In addition, activities such as canoeing, orienteering and hillwalking, informal games and other social activities are available for young people who take part in the summer courses. These activities are supervised by appropriately qualified staff supported by trained and experienced voluntary instructors.
The Centre nestles in the beautiful feature-full landscape of the UNESCO Marble Arch Caves Global Geo-park. It has unmatched activity facilities on its 65 acre site with a waterfront jetty onto Lower Lough MacNean; also on site is a high and low ropes course, a state-of-the-art indoor climbing wall and sports hall.
