EA Governor Training 2016-17

The Education Authority  has just announced details of the 2016-17 Training and Support Programme for Members of Boards of Governors.

Courses have been designed to help governors focus on their strategic responsibilities whilst also informing them of and supporting them in the vital role that they play in ensuring that schools provide a first class education to children and young people.

Governors should attend courses relevant to their expertise, roles and responsibilities.  It is recommended that attendance at courses is discussed and agreed collectively by the Board of Governors.

Applications for courses will operate on a termly basis via the school principal.

Governors should contact the principal to register for a course.

The Education and Library Boards (ELBs) were dissolved on 31 March 2015. The Education Authority was established on 01 April 2015 and is now responsible for all of the operational functions previously carried out by the five ELBs in accordance with the Education Orders.
