EA statement on school crossing patrol proposals

The Education Authority does not intend to make any changes to the current arrangements for school crossing patrols in the current financial year. In attempting to meet the gap in funding between what the Education Authority receives and what it needs to operate, a number of potential savings proposals are considered. Some are taken forward and some are not for a variety of reasons. Whilst there was consideration of making changes to school crossing patrols and clothing allowances for school uniforms earlier this year, the EA Board decided not to make savings in these areas.

SERVICES & INFORMATION

The Education and Library Boards (ELBs) were dissolved on 31 March 2015. The Education Authority was established on 01 April 2015 and is now responsible for all of the operational functions previously carried out by the five ELBs in accordance with the Education Orders.
