Education Authority welcomes Department of Education’s announcement on School Enhancement Programme

The Education Authority (EA) has welcomed the Department of Education’s approval to progress plans to address pressing accommodation needs in 25 schools through their School Enhancement Programme.

EA Chief Executive, Gavin Boyd said;

“The educational experiences of our children and young people can be greatly improved through enhancements to their physical learning environment. This £60m capital investment means that 25 schools will now benefit from much needed work to improve the infrastructure and facilities for thousands of pupils.

EA looks forward to moving to the next stages in the planning for new solutions for these schools for the benefit of the pupils, staff and the wider school communities.

We also welcome the news from DE that further applications from schools may be approved in the future.”
