Information for Schools - Reporting a School Closure

A severe weather warning has been issued by the Met Office, with snow forecast for Tuesday January 16.  In the event that extreme weather results in an exceptional closure on any given day, schools must log the closure via C2K My School. Click on the link below for full instructions.

By using this system, schools have to input closure information only once to notify multiple organisations and ensure that this vital information is widely communicated in a timely manner.

When a school logs a closure, a notification email is sent to the Department of Education (DE), Education Authority (EA) and the BBC.  The BBC and EA use this information to notify the public of multiple school closures via their websites and social media platforms.

(Please note that the BBC will no longer accept emails to notify them of school closures.)
