Appeals

How to Appeal the Authority's decision?

If you are not satisfied with the assessment made, you may request a review of your application.

There are four principal grounds of appeal:

A. That the qualifying distance from home to school has been incorrectly measured.

B. That the qualifying route is unavailable due to exceptional road safety hazards.

C. There may be other reasons why you feel your child should be treated as an exceptional case.

D. An application was made to all nearest suitable school(s)but admission was refused.

Where your appeal is on the grounds of either potential road safety (B) and/or exceptional circumstances (C) this will require further detailed consideration which may take some time to complete.

Not all Appeals will be fully considered by the 1st September however the Authority will endeavour to write to you with an outcome as soon as possible.

Until you receive formal notification from the Authority regarding the outcome of the appeal the transport arrangements for your child/children to and from school remains parental responsibility.
