Interim Strategic Plan
The Education Authority (EA) has published its first Strategic Plan, which sets out the organisation’s vision to ‘inspire, support and challenge all children and young people to be the best that they can be’.
About Education Authority
EA is responsible for ensuring that efficient and effective primary and secondary education services are available to meet the needs of children and young people, and support for the provision of efficient and effective youth services.
We help with all aspects of your child's journey through education from admission to pre-school, getting transport to school, changing schools, to moving through primary and post-primary. We are also here to help with newcomer issues, special educational needs and provide support whenever you or your child needs it.

In April 2017 the Education Authority (EA) published Providing Pathways – A Strategic Area Plan for School Provision 2017-2020. The action plan published today, is the third plan within this strategy, identifying a number of work-streams that will be brought forward to address issues around school provision in Northern Ireland.

The Education Authority’s Youth Service has recognised the contribution of over 270 volunteers at two celebration events at the Guildhall, City of Derry and Titanic, Belfast.

Stage 2 of the Pre-School Admissions procedure concluded on the 11 June 2019.
Following the closure of Stage 1 on 9 May 2019, and now Stage 2 on 11 June 2019, a total of 22,805 (97.30%) target age children have been placed in a pre-school setting with 85.35% being offered a place at their first preference for September 2019.
