Launch of T: BUC Camps Programme 2020-2021
The Executive Office, in partnership with the Education Authority (EA), is inviting applications from groups, to deliver a T: BUC Camps Programme in 2020-2021.
The EA Assistant Director for Youth Services, Arlene Kee said
“We are committed to ensuring that EA Youth Services maintain their long commitment to building good relations across the region. This year, we are delighted to announce a pilot programme called TBUC Ambassadors, which will give young people, who are currently involved in TBUC Camps, the opportunity to become leaders of 2020-21 programme.”
In welcoming the opening of the programme and the call for applications Andy Cole, Director of Good Relations and T:BUC in the Executive Office said:
“I am delighted to announce the launch of the T:BUC Camps Programme for 2020-21. A headline action under the NI Executive’s Good Relations Strategy, this programme has to date successfully engaged over 20,000 young people aged from 11 to 19 from across NI and has provided over £6M in funding since 2015.
Mr Cole continued, “In addition to creating new friendships and improving attitudes towards other communities, the programme also provides excellent opportunities for participants to try new activities, improve their confidence, develop leadership skills, increase understanding of their own and other cultures and traditions, and make an impact in their own communities through social action projects.”
The programme is about building positive relations among young people across all parts of our community and applications must have ‘good relations’ at their core. Camps can take place throughout the year, but all must be completed within the timeframe of 1 April 2020 and 28 February 2021.
Applications are invited from;
- Registered youth organisations
- Bona fide voluntary and community organisations including (churches, sports groups, art groups)
- Regional organisations
- District Councils.
The application process opens on Friday 22 November 2019 at 4pm and closes on Friday 17 January 2020 at 4pm. The application form and guidance notes for are available at www.eani.org.uk/tbuc. Groups can also contact EA TBUC Office by telephone on 028 90566 952.
