Catering wins top excellence award
Congratulations to our Catering service who were winners at the recent APSE awards. The Association for Public Service Excellence Awards highlights excellence in the delivery of frontline services to local communities.
With schools closing in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic EA Catering at Forthill Integrated College remained open and reconfigured their service to supply the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service with packed lunches across Northern Ireland for all their staff.
The hard working team at Forthill, led by Karen Brown, supplied over 1,000 lunches per day, seven days a week until July of this year.
EA Catering Head of Service, Stephen Briggs was delighted for the team at Forthill whose work he said was reflective of the hard work right across the Catering service:
“This is such a boost of recognition for everyone involved in this operation which commenced in March 2020 to support our Front Line Workers, in the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. It has been a very challenging year in all, but right across our Catering service we have been able to adapt continue to provide a high quality service. This recognition from APSE is a great news story to end 2020.”
A huge congratulations to the cleaning and transport services who were also finalists at the ASPE awards.
