EA Youth Service launch the Pathway into a Professional Youth Work Career Programme for 2021-2022

Education Authority Youth Service are working in partnership with the Ulster University to attract new talent to the youth and community work sector through the Pathway to Professional Youth Work Programme.

The programme will offer 13 successful candidates the opportunity to study part-time for a professional, accredited honours degree across three years whilst holding a fixed term unqualified youth support worker position within the Education Authority Youth Service.

The successful completion of the three year course will lead to a BSc Honours in Community Youth Work.

Lynsey Branniff, Head of Local Youth Services outlined the significance of the programme:

“Through this exciting scheme, the EA continues to demonstrate its commitment to the provision of quality professional training, encouraging new audiences to embark upon a rewarding career as a youth and community worker, with the aim to open up employment and progression routes across the sector”.
