The Framework, led by Head of Corporate Governance, Michael Robinson, and the Corporate Governance working group, provides a broad overview of the governance structures, systems and process within EA.

This ‘one stop’ document outlines EA’s overarching system of corporate governance, that ensures accountability, effective decision making and assurance at all levels within the organisation.

It also aims to support EA to ensure the highest standards of corporate governance throughout the organisation and promotes good governance principles.

Speaking at the launch Chief Executive Sara Long said:

"The creation of an integrated Corporate Governance Framework marks an important step forward for EA and will further support and enhance our continued pursuit of robust and effective decision making; decision making that, at its core, aims to improve the services and educational outcomes for children and young people. Improving their outcomes is at the heart of everything we do."

The framework is organised under 5 key pillars of good governance:

  • Accountability and Leadership
  • Risk Management
  • Compliance and Assurance
  • Planning and Performance
  • Learning and Review

The EA would like to offer sincere thanks to our colleagues from Corporate Governance working group who were instrumental in leading the development of the new framework.
