Giving Back Can Make a Difference – Donate Online to EA’s Christmas Family Apeal
24 November 2021
For the third year in succession, we are proud to launch the Education Authority’s (EA) Christmas Family Appeal 2021 by partnering with our amazing friends at St Vincent de Paul and the Salvation Army.
We invite you to help us make this Christmas magical for the 100,000 plus local children aged from new born to 16 years old by making an online donation before Friday, 17 December 2021 to Just Giving Christmas Family Appeal supporting St Vincent de Paul & The Salvation Army - the final donation will be divided evenly between both partner charities.
Sara Long, EA Chief Executive, said:
“We are delighted to be partnering with St Vincent de Paul and the Salvation Army once again to play our part in supporting the Christmas Family Appeal.
We remain committed to ensuring that no child or young person in Northern Ireland wakes up on Christmas morning without the magic of a gift under the tree.
Our involvement in this joint charity appeal provides an opportunity for our staff across schools and services to give back to those families most in need within the local community. I am pleased to say the last two years have truly captured the generosity and kindness of EA staff and schools.”
Major Neil Webb, the Salvation Army’s Divisional Leader, said:
“As a church and charity, we are inspired by the Christmas message to reach out to people in need.
Through our community work in towns across Northern Ireland, we have seen first-hand the impact of the pandemic on the families we support. That’s why we look forward to working with our good friends at the EA and St Vincent de Paul to bring Christmas cheer to children and young people who might otherwise go without.”
Mary Waide, Regional President for St Vincent de Paul North Region, said:
“As we join with the EA and the Salvation Army we would take this opportunity to thank everyone who has made the appeal so successful to date and stress that we would appreciate your help again this year very much. Protecting the dignity of those in need is paramount and this virtual appeal will help us ensure that no child wakes up to an empty Christmas while empowering parents to choose and prioritise how best to make use of your donation this winter.”
