Pre-School Admissions for September 2019
Wednesday, 12th June 2019
Stage 2 of the Pre-School Admissions procedure concluded on the 11 June 2019.
Following the closure of Stage 1 on 9 May 2019, and now Stage 2 on 11 June 2019, a total of 22,805 (97.30%) target age children have been placed in a pre-school setting with 85.35% being offered a place at their first preference for September 2019.
Applications for underage children (born on or between 2 July 2016 and 1 July 2017) were also processed during Stage 2 and a total of 681 (22.97%) were placed in a Nursery School/Nursery Unit with 17.94% being offered a place at their first preference. For admission to pre-school the priority of pre-school places is given to target age children who are in their final year of pre-school before underage children and a parent of an underage child can only apply for a place in a Nursery School/Nursery Unit.
Parents whose application was processed in Stage 2 will receive letters today (Wednesday 12 June) informing them of which pre-school their child has been placed. Parents who were unsuccessful in obtaining a funded pre-school place for their child in Stage 2 will receive notification from the Education Authority (EA) also today advising what they need to do now.
A list of providers/schools that still had places available at the close of Stage 2 can be found on the EA website www.eani.org.uk/admissions along with an information leaflet containing questions and answers on what parents may need to do depending on the outcome of their application. Parents can also contact the Admissions Helpline on 028 9598 5595, Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm, or email email@example.com
