The Board of Governors are the key strategic decision makers in schools and therefore have a vital role to play in improving and sustaining school and pupil performance also ensuring that resources are used well to give every child the best possible education.
The Board of Governors work in partnership with the principal, staff, parents, pupils and the local community to ensure that the pupils have every opportunity to develop their skills and talents to their full potential within a caring and stimulating learning environment.
The ‘Training and Support Programme for Members of Boards of Governors, September 2019 – June 2020’ is designed as a regional programme enabling access to any course at any of the venues across the country.
Governors should avail of the wide range of training opportunities offered. These training sessions are a great opportunity to hear current updates and learn about particular areas of responsibility.
