EA Connect: Post Primary Admissions Reminder for Primary Schools - 6 February 2025

Applications Update

EA Connect is currently open for applications for post primary school places.

Thank you for all the support you have provided to parents, signposting to resources, distributing the digital leaflet on how to apply, and sharing key messages of the post primary admissions process.

The position with post primary applications is as follows:

  • 39% applications submitted
  • 16% applications started yet to be submitted
  • 45% applications not started

We would appreciate your assistance in reminding parents to submit their application via EA Connect before the closing date of Thursday 20 February 2025 at 12 noon.

Can we ask you to monitor the status of applications for your pupils on the P7 Transfer tab on EA Connect.

Important Information

Pupil details entered by parents on applications must match with EA records for the application status to update in the P7 Transfer tab.

If the pupil has moved to a different primary school or has changed their address etc the application will not match automatically. This will not prevent a parent from making an application but there may be a short delay in the status icon being updated until the record is manually ‘matched’ by EA Admissions staff.

Remember: post primary placements of children with a Statement of Special Educational Needs are arranged through EA’s Special Education Needs Department. Application should not be made via EA Connect and will not appear in the P7 Transfer Tab.

Parents will be informed of the outcome of their application by email on 10 May.
