Pupil Support Services

Pupil Support Services provide support across the Authority to schools, parents, children and young people for a range of special educational and medical needs. The Services deliver extensive programmes which assist schools in their responsibilities in supporting children and young people with SEN and medical needs.

Pupil Support Services work in close partnership with other EA Services and in collaboration with relevant Health and Social Care providers. 

  • Autism Advisory & Intervention Service (AAIS)

    The Autism Advisory and Intervention Service (AAIS) is a regional service that provides advice and support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

  • Literacy Service

    The Literacy Service supports children and young people with Cognition and Learning type difficulties in literacy - specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) in literacy/dyslexia.

  • Sensory Service

    The Sensory Service is a regional service to support children and young people who are deaf and/or hard of hearing, Vision Impaired (VI) or Multi-Sensory Impaired (MSI).
     

  • SEN Early Years Inclusion Service (SEN EYIS)

    This regional service aims to promote the optimum development of pre-school children with special educational needs by providing advice and support to children, families and pre-school settings.

  • Language & Communication

    The EA Language & Communication Service (LCS) supports pupils with identified language difficulties as a primary area of need.

  • SEN Inclusion Service

    The EA SEN Inclusion Service supports the effective inclusion of children and young people with learning and medical needs.
