Multilingual Minds : the Mental Health and Wellbeing of Newcomer Children and Young People in Northern Ireland (Publish Date 24 October 2018)

Research commissioned by the Youth Service based on the Regional Assessment of Need for 2017-2020 regarding the mental health needs of newcomer children in Northern Ireland.

The EA Youth Service, under its policy directive Priorities for Youth, plays an important in promoting the educational achievement, of all children and young people in Northern Ireland including Newcomers. Through the Youth Service Regional Youth Development Plan 2017-2020 the EA identified the mental health of Newcomer children and young people as a key priority for Youth Service over the next 3 years. EA therefore commissioned research to be undertaken in order to inform the provision of EA youth services across NI for Newcomer children and young people.

This research provides you with  information on the mental health needs of Newcomer children and young people in communities across Northern Ireland and  explores ways in which the EA Youth Service can contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of Newcomer children and young people and make recommendations for future development.
