A Bangor Shared Ed Partnership enjoyed team building activities
20 February 2026
Last month, more than 200 Primary 4 pupils from Ballyholme PS, Bangor Central IPS and Rathmore PS, all located in Bangor, came together at Blair Mayne Leisure Centre in Newtownards for a large‑scale collaborative learning event as part of their PEACEPLUS ASPIRE partnership.
Making excellent use of the Dome, the schools organised a carousel of team‑building activities, including guiding blindfolded partners through a simple obstacle course, working together to keep balloons in the air, and a range of other cooperative challenges.
Pupils wore beautifully designed T‑shirts that encouraged immediate mixing across schools, and the session was expertly facilitated by teachers, classroom assistants and the Blair Mayne leadership team. With time built in for break and social interaction, the morning provided a highly successful and enjoyable shared learning experience for all involved.
A Rathmore PS pupil said:
“I didn't know what it would be like, but when I got there it was a lot of fun and I met lots of new friends from other schools. The best part was the balloon game.”
A Bangor Central IPS pupil:
“I loved the gymnastics. I made two new friends called Willow and Savannah. They were very friendly and kind.”
Ballyholme PS pupil:
“I was nervous before the day, but I had a great time. I won’t be nervous about the next day.”
