Common Funding Scheme CFS

The Common Funding Scheme (CFS) is a system used to fund all grant-aided schools in Northern Ireland. It was implemented in April 2005 and provides a consistent and equitable way to allocate funding to schools. The Department of Education apply a formula (the Common Funding Formula or CFF) to determine each school's budget share. Schools receive a delegated budget under the scheme, allowing them to plan and use resources according to their individual needs and priorities.
