Organisational Structure

The Education Authority’s Senior Management structure comprises five directorates and the Chief Executive’s Office.  Each Directorate is responsible for a range of services and functions.

Chief Executive

Richard PengellyThe Chief Executive is responsible for ensuring that EA resources are organised to deliver its statutory accountabilities and Ministerial priorities; developing the EA’s vision and strategy; providing leadership to EA and across the wider NI education system and leading effective engagement and communication with staff, the public, Department of Education, education partners and wider stakeholders. The Chief Executive is the EA’s Accounting Officer and is accountable for the operations of the organisation and responsible for safeguarding allocated funds.

Chief People Officer

Robbie McGreevyThe Chief People Officer is responsible for leading the human resources, talent and organisational functions and acting as a driver of people actions required to maintain overall financial and organisational health.  This includes the delivery of three key responsibilities - People Strategy and Leadership; Culture and Employee Experience; and Professional Development - along with providing overall leadership to the People Directorate fostering a culture of improvement and engagement.

Chief Operations Officer

Dale HannaThe Chief Operations Officer is responsible for leadership of operational services, driving organisational efficiency to achieve excellence in delivering services to schools, parents, children and young people. This includes being accountable for Operational Strategy; Performance Management; Quality Assurance and Stakeholder Engagement along with providing overall leadership to the Operations and Estates Directorate fostering a culture of improvement and engagement.

Chief Education Officer

Chief Education Officer Eve BremnerThe Chief Education Officer is responsible for overseeing the education and support services to ensure high quality and equitable access across Northern Ireland, and the key point of contact to engage with stakeholder groups regarding education services and overseeing strategic focus areas such as inclusion. This includes the delivery of three key responsibilities - Strategic Leadership and Planning; Championing Educational Excellence and Innovation; and Stakeholder Engagement and Public Relations - along with provided overall leadership to the Education Directorate, fostering a culture of improvement and engagement.

Chief Finance Officer
