Pupil Support Services provide support across the Authority to schools, parents, children and young people for a range of special educational and medical needs. The Services deliver extensive programmes which assist schools in their responsibilities in supporting children and young people with SEN and medical needs.
The EA Youth Service manages and operates a range of funding programmes to support the delivery of Youth Work Practice, the Youth Work Curriculum and to improve outcomes for all our children and young people. Funding opportunities and registration take place at key times throughout the year and this section will provide you with information when they are open to application.
EA tv is the online television service for the Education Authority and is an integral part of the School Development Service. It provides access to a wide range of on demand Teacher Professional Learning programmes for teachers, school leaders, governors and other stakeholders.
The Education Library Service supports the DE vision ‘to enable each young person to achieve his/her potential’ and the aim of the Northern Ireland Curriculum ‘to empower young people to achieve their potential and to make informed and responsible decisions throughout their lives’.
The Pre-School Education Support Service carries out the operational and administration functions of the Pre-School Education Programme (PSEP). Here you will find all documents associated with the administration of the PSEP.
The Educational Psychology Service is child-centred and works within a multiagency context. We also look at difficulties a child may be experiencing in a broad ‘systemic way’. This means we try to take into account all of the influences that may be affecting the child and the difficulty.
The School Development Service (SDS) delivers high quality strategic support and challenge to school principals, Boards of Governors and school staff in order to ensure that standards are raised and education outcomes for children and young people are improved.
Induction and EPD normally take 3 years to complete (possibly longer depending on your employment circumstances). You will be supported through this process by the Induction and EPD team at the Education Authority.
