ASPIRE partnership explores nature in Forest School

Primary 1 and 2 pupils from Killyman Primary School and Laghey Primary School had a wonderful outdoor adventure at the Forest School in Dungannon Park this week.

Surrounded by nature, the children explored the woodland and learned about the different animals and birds that live there. They listened carefully to bird calls, spotted signs of wildlife, and discussed their habitats.

The highlight of the day for the children was building their own nests using natural materials just like the animals and birds who live in the forest. The interactive session in nature was a fun way to celebrate a year-long ASPIRE shared education partnership between the two schools.

ASPIRE is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).  It aims to provide direct and sustained contact between children and young people from all backgrounds.
