The event showcased the pupils’ work from across the year, highlighting how children from both schools have built new friendships, strengthened teamwork skills and explored the rich local history and folklore of the Causeway area.

As part of the programme, pupils visited the Giant’s Causeway and Bushmills Courthouse, drawing inspiration from local legends and stories before working together to create their own mythical tales. These original stories were proudly shared with parents, grandparents, guardians and friends during the celebration event.

The young storytellers impressed visitors with their confidence, enthusiasm and imagination as they read their work to a packed room, marking a memorable end to their shared education journey for the year.

Reflecting on the experience, one pupil said: “Before connecting with new people that I had never met, I was worried about it. But then after we started meeting together, I got more confident and started to make friends. I think I can make friends anywhere now.”

The PEACEPLUS ASPIRE Shared Education Project continues to support schools in bringing children together to learn, collaborate and build positive relationships through meaningful shared experiences.

The PEACEPLUS ASPIRE project is led by the Education Authority in partnership with Léargas, Early Years – the organisation for young children, the National Childhood Network, and the Fermanagh Trust. The project is funded by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
