EA's Data Analytics and Insights Team in collaboration with the EdIS programme, C2k support service and schools recently won the prestigious ‘British Data Award’ in the category of 'Data Transformation of the Year' at the 2024 British Data Awards.
This success is a testament to our continual commitment to innovation and excellence in the world of educational data and collaboration.
The British Data Awards celebrates the outstanding achievements within the UK's data landscape. This year saw a staggering 321 submissions from diverse entities spanning companies from FTSE 100, technology companies, start-ups, government departments, not-for-profit and everything in between.
Adrian Lavery, EA Lead Data Governance Manager said,
“I’m immensely proud to represent EA in receiving this award. This achievement not only highlights our Data Analytics and Insights team's dedication and expertise but also underscores the power of successful collaboration between EA directorates. We have demonstrated the impact of data-driven innovation, reaffirming our commitment to excellence in the world of data analytics.”
This work exemplifies the power of working in partnership to achieving remarkable results and improvements in data. The winning project stands as a ground-breaking initiative, showcasing EA's pioneering approach to data management. By meticulously transforming 340,000 pupil records, we've improved data quality across all school sites, laying a robust foundation for migration to a new centralised Student Management System (SMS).
Judges praised the winning entry as ‘an extremely impressive data transformation of pupil records.’
This recognition not only validates our efforts but also inspires us to continually push the boundaries of innovation across the education data landscape.
