Education Authority Chief Executive visits Kilcooley Primary School, Bangor

As part of a series of visits to schools, Education Authority Chief Executive, Richard Pengelly, visited Kilcooley Primary School, Bangor, recently where he met with Principal, Pauline Brown, Chair of Governors, Mr John Witchell, Anita Stewart, SENCO & manager of Specialist Provision, school staff, and pupils.

As part of a series of visits to schools, Education Authority Chief Executive, Richard Pengelly, visited Kilcooley Primary School, Bangor, recently where he met with Principal, Pauline Brown, Chair of Governors, Mr John Witchell, SENCO & manager of Specialist Provision, Anita Stewart, school staff, and pupils. Richard received a tour of the school where he had the opportunity to visit the school’s specialist provision classes and hear about the positive impact they have had on the lives of pupils and the wider school community.

He also heard about the school’s commitment to supporting all pupils to reach their potential and the inspiring and valuable work that is being delivered across the school community to provide enhanced learning experiences for all.

School principal, Pauline Brown said,

“Kilcooley Primary School has always prided itself on providing a welcoming and happy environment and it is wonderful that even more children can access the support they need and deserve in their local community.”

Education Authority chief Executive, Richard Pengelly, said,

“The EA remains committed to ensuring that all children and young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) have the right support, in the right time, from the right people, in the right place.                 

“It was a pleasure to join with Kilcooley Primary School today and experience the commitment of the staff to ensuring all children access education which meets their individual needs and enables them to reach their full potential. It is wonderful to see how the children have flourished as they are educated alongside their mainstream peers and hear how the new classrooms have enhanced the wider school community.”
