Against some very tough competition from across the UK public sector, the EA’s Procurement Service was recognised for excellence in supporting and delivering the Special Educational Needs Capacity Building programme.

The team have been working to deliver a comprehensive and wide-ranging programme of work on the procurement of goods and services including minor works, initial furniture and equipment, educational resources and catering, to increase capacity at schools across Northern Ireland.

The Operations Team within EA’s Procurement Service was also highly commended for their ‘iproc’ procurement plan to improve systems and processes for schools and the EA.

Julie O’Sullivan, the Education Authority’s Head of Procurement Service, said:

“We are absolutely delighted and honoured to be recognised among some of the biggest public sector organisations throughout the UK, including the Cabinet Office and Transport for Scotland, to name a few.

“The ‘go awards’ are dedicated to celebrating excellence in public procurement.

“The awards recognise organisations that have demonstrated exceptional innovation and excellence in their work and winners who have set new standards for procurement practices across the UK.”
