Killyleagh Schools Celebrate Strong PEACEPLUS ASPIRE Partnership
24 June 2026
Killyleagh Primary School and St Mary’s Primary School Killyleagh are celebrating the continued success of their PEACEPLUS ASPIRE partnership, a long-standing collaboration that has brought pupils and staff together through shared learning, friendship and inclusion.
Over the years, the partnership has created meaningful opportunities for children from both schools to learn alongside one another, take part in fun activities and build confidence in a welcoming and supportive environment. Staff have also developed strong professional relationships through continued collaboration and shared experiences.
From outdoor maths games to dancing and music activities, pupils have enjoyed memorable moments that have helped strengthen connections across the two school communities.
Pupils were quick to share their favourite experiences. “I loved doing maths outside with my friend from St Mary’s. My favourite part was the counting games,” said Ranya, P3. Jack, P7, added: “It was great working with friends from the other school.”
St Mary’s pupils also reflected on the fun of learning together. “It was fun and I loved being outside doing maths work,” said Kiera, P4, while Aria, P1, said: “My friend came over with her class, and we did some dancing and pirate songs.”
The PEACEPLUS ASPIRE partnership continues to be a valued part of school life, enriching learning, supporting inclusion and helping young people develop friendships that can last well beyond the classroom.
The PEACEPLUS ASPIRE project is led by the Education Authority in partnership with Léargas, Early Years – the organisation for young children, the National Childhood Network, and the Fermanagh Trust. The project is funded by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
