PEACEPLUS ASPIRE Choir Spreads Festive Cheer at Connect Fermanagh

16 December 2025

The spirit of Christmas was in full swing as pupils from St Aidan’s High School, Derrylin and Fairgreen National School, Belturbet, joined forces as part of their PEACEPLUS ASPIRE partnership to create a choir performance for volunteers and service users of Connect Fermanagh at Fermanagh House.

Guests were warmly welcomed by Lauri McCusker, Director of Fermanagh Trust, before the talented pupils filled the room with music and joy. Their repertoire included classics such as Dreams by The Cranberries and Imagine by John Lennon, before transitioning into festive favourites that had the entire audience singing along.

The choir, supported by gifted musicians and soloists, was expertly led by Christina McCarron, Choir Master from St Aidan’s High School.

Connect Fermanagh, established by Fermanagh Trust in April 2020, provides a vital telephone befriending service for residents in need of a listening ear.

PEACEPLUS ASPIRE (Advancing Shared Partnerships through Inclusive Relationships in Education) is led by the Education Authority (EA), alongside Léargas, Early Years- the organisation for young children, National Childhood Network (NCN) and the Fermanagh Trust. The project is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). It aims to provide direct and sustained contact between children and young people from all backgrounds.
