Two Schools mark ten-year long Shared Education partnership
22 June 2026
St Paul’s Primary School, Ahoghill and Kirkinriola Primary School have celebrated the end of a remarkable ten-year partnership, as St Paul’s prepares to close its doors for the final time in June 2026.
Pupils, parents and staff gathered at Leighinmohr House last week for a special celebration event recognising a decade of shared learning, friendship and community spirit between the two schools.
The partnership began through the CASE programme and continued through the PEACEPLUS ASPIRE project, creating opportunities for pupils to learn together, build friendships and take part in a wide range of shared activities.
The celebration featured pupil performances, project displays and reflections on the many joint initiatives that have brought the school communities together over the years, including shared sports, creative arts projects and memorable outdoor activities.
Principals praised the resilience, enthusiasm and togetherness shown by pupils throughout the partnership, while parents spoke warmly about the positive impact the shared activities had on their children.
One parent described the event as “a fitting send-off and a lovely way to celebrate all the wonderful activities pupils have been part of over the years.”
Although the closure of St Paul’s Primary School marks the end of an era, staff said the friendships, experiences and sense of community built through the partnership will continue to be remembered by pupils and families for years to come.
The PEACEPLUS ASPIRE project is led by the Education Authority in partnership with Léargas, Early Years – the organisation for young children, the National Childhood Network, and the Fermanagh Trust. The project is funded by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
