Update on Storm Chandra Response

Home to school transport will seek to operate as normal tomorrow, but with a yellow warning for ice on Wednesday morning (between 3am and 10am), there is the potential for further disruption to some services.

EA Maintenance Service will prioritise critical repairs following damage to the school estate from Storm Chandra. Inspections and assessments can only be carried out when it is safe to do so.

Schools can report critical repairs out of hours to EA’s Maintenance Service’s out of hours Helpline on: 028 3751 2345. During normal school hours, the EA Maintenance Helpdesk (028 95 986111) will continue to operate. To date the maintenance service has received approximately 120 calls for assistance in relation to roof leaks and general storm damage works.

School staff assessing any damage should be aware of the hazards from electricity equipment and be extra careful around any fallen trees as they often take electricity poles and wires with them when they fall.
