Downshire Youth Centre located within the school grounds of Carrickfergus Junior Academy offers children and young people aged 8 – 25, a wide range of activities and projects aimed at supporting emotional, personal and social development outside of the school setting.
All staff are fully trained in youth work practices to engage with children and young people, supporting their learning and providing educational opportunities which aim to develop confidence and resilience.
Downshire Youth Centre is a safe environment where children and young people can express themselves and most importantly have fun with peers.
The centre has fantastic facilities including; social area, arts and crafts spaces, group work rooms and a large sports hall where lots of games and activities take place. There is also a kitchen where cooking and baking activities can be enjoyed.
