Outcome of Application
If you applied online an email will be sent on the corresponding date listed above, advising you of the outcome of your child’s application. If we do not hold an email address for you a letter will be sent to your home address.
For children yet to secure a place at the corresponding date listed above, you will receive an email or letter from the Education Authority.
You may also view the outcome on the EA Connect portal from the corresponding dates listed above. Your login details will be the email address and password you had registered with to apply online. If you have forgotten your password, click ‘Forgotten Password’ option on the Portal.

Next Steps for Post Primary
From Saturday 9 May:
- Add additional preferences: Where your child has yet to secure a place, check the List of Post-Primary Schools with Places Available and submit additional preferences using EA Connect. Guidance on how to add additional preferences is available in Admissions Support.
- Change of Preference: In the unlikely event that you decide to reject a place offered, you can complete the Change of Preference Form. You can nominate one school from the List of Post-Primary Schools with Places Available. From Monday 11 May 2026 EA Admissions will send your application details to the school nominated on your Change of Preference webform. If the school is able to offer your child a place, they will get in touch with you directly.
- Submit an Admission Appeal or ECB Appeal: Where your child has not been selected for admission to a school, you will be advised of your right to appeal the decision of the Board of Governors. See our information on the appeals process and submission dates.
Important – If your change of preference request is successful your application will be updated on EA Connect and your previous placement school will be notified. The previous offer from your original choice of school will be withdrawn.
